Our laser hair removal treatments are usually safe depending on skin types and colours and are suitable for anyone looking for long term, silky-smooth results. The laser used in the procedure is attracted to the pigment of the hair follicle, which means the darker the hair, the better it draws the energy of the laser beam to it, giving greater hair reduction. Your therapist will consider whether your unwanted hair has enough pigment to be treated in your consultation.

There are a few different reasons why laser hair reduction might be the treatment for you, including PCOS and the menopause – whereby hormone levels cause excess hair growth that can cause low self-esteem and embarrassment. Also, laser hair reduction encourages the hair to grow straight, so it’s a great solution for ingrown hairs.

With long lasting results, laser hair reduction is better value for money compared to other hair reduction methods as it requires very minimal maintenance.

Other methods are time consuming and their costs can grow to a substantial amount more than laser hair reduction over time.

All skin tones can be treated with laser hair reduction and your practitioner will adjust the laser to suit your hair and skin type. Lasers with longer wave lengths are used for darker skin types because the laser goes deeper and bypasses melanin in the skin - avoiding causing burns. Laser hair reduction works best on those with dark hair. At your consultation you will have a patch test, which allows us to select not only the right laser for your skin type, but to calibrate it exactly to achieve the best results possible, whilst ensuring the highest safety at all times. It's important to tell us if your skin is not its usual colour - for instance if you have a tan, or have had a recent reaction to something, as this can dramatically affect our ability to give you the best treatment.

Results may vary patient to patient.
